I cant believe it. First there was talk of the Euro tunnel then the port of Dover and now Royal Mail. At this rate we will become the united states of England.
Surely the answer to this financial trouble is not to sell everything we own.
Makes me very scared of what the future holds for the NHS. If health becomes a business then I am out of here.

To be honest, Royal Mail will probably always deliver letters to your door, theres no better way, but I suspect the services to get them to the posities will become highly competitive if a sell off goes ahead as the monopolies thing will come into action at a guess.
Do you Royal Mail that essential replacement headlight? Of course not, you courier it, its cheaper and gets there faster, although with home delivery network - not usually in one piece.

Most of your post now comes with TNT UKMail ect instead of a stamp or royal mail frank
Its called down steam access
If RM do not pick it up from customer - distribute it to mail centers - deliver it IT DOES NOT EXIST when they say mail levels are down
BUT it is still in the postmans bag
Also the unsolicited leaflets pushed through your door by postie he used to be paid extra for a maximun of 3 per door per week Now under the last pay deal he can deliver 6 per door per week for £0 extra

Health already is a business, has been since soon after 1997.
My latest screen saver on my works NHS computer states "Our aim is to save £49.5m over the years 2009 to 2014" then it says "We must provide value for money services" and finally "We are in a marketplace, we must compete" our local NHS occupational health services are already provided by a private company how fecking stupid is that? The substance misuse service for those that need it from a population of around 350,000 people is provided by a private company under the auspices of the NHS and the list goes on.
