Holiday advice

Postby wanda » Mon Jul 05, 2010 10:23 pm

Was planning to take a holiday end of the month as I just need to rest before my head explodes. Was thinking of inverness in scotland but if there are any people from Wales could you recomend any places in Northern Wales that would be nice to checkout as I have never been there.

Or if anyone could recomend any place to go on holiday within UK would be welcomed most warmly. :)

lol, every forum needs a comedian.. I guess we have found ours!!!

On another note, have you thought of Northern Ireland. I could name so many things you could do you would never get a chance to do it all.

Theres also some fantastic places to stay.

wanda, we go to a little hamlet in Snowdonia called Llanfachreth just outside Dolgellau. Lovely part of the World, great for walking or things like Electric Mountain, CAT and towns / vilages like Barmouth.

We stay at Heulwen Guest House and have become quite good friends with the owners but they do get booked up early so if you think of going get on the blower to Heulwen straight away.

You won't believe how quiet the roads are, there's very few traffic lights, I don't think I've seen a set of traffic lights and the people are really pleasant all this mixed with gorgeous countryside and mountains just makes it an ideal place for a short break.

Are you in the same North Wales i live and work in?
I do about 2500 miles a month in N Wales and its not very often i get a free run, normally i'm stuck behind some dilly dallying tourist or a few lorries and couple of coaches :banghead Why they can't pull in and let you pass is beyond me. As for lights the place is full of temporary ones at the moment due to road repairs(unusual amount of edge reinforcing going on!).
Apart from that i live between Llangollen and Wrexham and Wanda you'll have a great time up here loads to see and do.
And if you get the weather right and come in Summer(it's on a Thursday this year) it'll be even better.

Nick.

The bits that we go to are a dream, amazing to actually drive on nice A and B roads without many traffic lights or roundabouts although I agree with your comments about temporary ones due to road maintenance but they are just that, temporary. I know what you mean about dilly dally tourists and coaches having just come back from a couple of days awya in the Peak district :banghead
