Wire identification

Today in the boot under the carpets I found a wire that goes to nowhere.

Well spotted - you learn something every day!

There are loads of redundant looms in the Megane. Heated seats (if you don't have them) are a prime example. Cheaper I suppose, to bung the same wires into every model irrespective of trim level to keep costs down.

I think by phase 2 they were only fitting the required looms for the specific trim level.

Thats right phase 1 had a standard harness regardless of trim level
Then the bean counters became more involved and a different harness was developed per trim / equipment model for the phase 2
