Brighter than normal "normal" bulbs
I had a chat with one chap at Halfords who told me that the have this bulb that is two times brighter than a normal bulb. Its a Halfords own brand bulb but not a LED bulb. Has anyone heard of these bulbs that I can not name as I can not remember its name?

Re: Brighter than normal "normal" bulbs
The bulbs you want are the 'Philips Xtreme Power +80%'.
They are seriously bright. I have them in my full beam and fogs. They are nearly as bright as my HID beams. They also give a crisp white colour rather than a yellow beam.
When all 6 bulbs are on I could light a football pitch.
However each bulb draws 50w rather than the standard 35w. Cables can handle it, the battery cant if the engine isn’t running.
It’s night and day compared to standard bulbs.
Regards

I wondered what you were on about too! Thinking about all-LED lighting or ballasts etc....

HIDs are 35w. though the newer ones are 55w to match the standard halogen bulbs of 55w.
Re: Brighter than normal "normal" bulbs
HID = 35W, H7 = 55W. Sorted - learned something new again!
