Cool photos, i too love walking around old buildings like that, mine are usually pubs(not on same scale as hospital) that have been shut for years. It's amazing like you said things that some people leave behind.
Always astounds me to equipment etc that's left. From a professional level just the couple of photos of the kitchen/dining areas you took there are a few pieces of catering equipment that many a place would pay good money for.
Just out of interest how did you get access to it(or should i not ask!?) as there seems to be alot of patient info left there, thinking data protection.
Also were you tempted to open and smell the milk in that fridge

One of those things i KNOW i shouldn't do when looking around closed pubs is smell food/drink but i just have to

Worst ever was a bucket of parsley in water my god i thought i was going to die.

It took me a couple of months of 'pestering' folk to gain access.
Eventualy i was handed a large set of keys and sent on my way.
I only scraped the surface.. On my return i will have done more planning. Aimming to see the isolation tents, Morgue (sp), Iron Lungs, operating rooms (Im told the med cupboards are still full) and the deep and untouched WW2 air raid shelters.
The adrenaline rush moving through a building like this alone is unreal. A scale up from a pub!

Some pubs give me the creeps so that place would. I'd still love to wander round it though, i think you should organise a meet there looking at the response to this thread you'd have a large take up

Thats not really possible. Its a one man mission and thats how i plan to keep it. Part of the excitment of urban exploring.

Those are fantastic pictures and remind me very much of the Hospital in the Lancashire where I first started working for the NHS.
A lot of the things were built to the same design and whilst perfect for their use at the time they now look ridiculous.
There is something I find strangely attractive about them though, I could wander around a place like that for hours, perhaps even days without getting bored.
