We've got nothing but frost over here in Wales.
I think everyone is happy because we've had no rain for couple of days!!!

This is how it looked like after I cleaned it twice.

So I gave up. Snow win I lose.

We got snow here today (NI), Not quite as heavy as above mind you.
Anyway it seemed that every carpark i drove past today had its own Handbreak Display Team preforming. After a while(when I found a privite tarmaced area with no one about...)I gave in and joined them! Made me smile was some fun! Theres something about going forward when looking out the side window...

We have had about 5" of snow. Naturally I could not miss the chance to practice my 'cold weather driving skills'

I've just got home from Holywell and wife is stuck somewhere near Anglesey!!
Have to admit i laugh when these people bang on about taking flasks of hot drinks, blankets, shovels etc out in this weather but after today i'll be going out like Bear Grylls tomorrow.
Spent an hour and half in Holywell with little snow when i got there but how i got out i don't know. The 55 out of there was deserted in my direction luckily cos if i'd had to brake i might have stopped this side of the weekend.
So tomorrow could be an admin at home day for me.
Going back to my 1st line i am concerned about her who must be obeyed, the washing machine is flashing end and my dinner is sitting raw in the fridge

Had another day off work today and will be off again tomorrow as they have decided against opening college on health and safety grounds
Just ventured out in the car as we were running low on supplies and the roads around Skelmersdale are terrible!
There does not appear to have been any grit put down in the last 24 hours

and it's -5C at the moment and freezing like stink, cars are just sliding all over the place.

Eddie-- wrote:if your gettin paid for sitting at home all the best but think of what its doing for people not getting paid my works slow as atm ive doin the same drive in and out for less money and hour in that weather raging over it

Four days off have actually allowed me to catch up with all of my marking, lesson prep and admin work that I never have enough time for in a normal working week. College is open for staff today for a couple of hours but not students and I will be going in to drop off and collect more work.
We have 4 large sites and the powers that be have deemed (possibly too readily) that there is a major H&S problem given the amount of snow we had, the car parks are largely inaccessible and public transport has only just started to run to again in the Wigan area.
It is not running where I live in West Lancashire and the roads are terrible. I had to go out last night and a journey that would normally take 15 minutes took me nearly 45 on roads that were reasonable clear of snow but frozen solid, with drivers who just do not know how to drive defensively and safely in bad conditions.
I got out at a set of traffic light and had a word with the d***head behind me and told him that if he wanted to run in the back of me then to carry on driving the way he was doing but he would be paying for the damage!
