Will i buy a Megane.
After trawling this site and many others it seems these cars are just full of the same old faults.
I bought mine as i liked the style but boy do i regret it.
The biggest heap of shite ever and so far i've spent about a grand in repairs in less than a year.
If it wasn't on finance i'd have flogged it by now.
Very dissatisfied and my next car will be not be one of these.
Never again

Re: Never again
Mines on 110k miles had the very odd minor problem so i'd recommend one to anyone.
You have to remember as well the majority of people come on a forum because they have a problem. Many thousands more owners out there who are happy with Renaults and have no problems.

Re: Never again
am I right to think most of these cars are early version's (e.g. 2003 reg).to be honest,we have never had problem with any of our cars, but I don't think you can buy a car which is absolutely trouble free.
but as mentioned,
but as mentioned,

Re: Never again
I have a 53 reg 1.5 megane and apart from the window regulators I have been relatively trouble free, oil change every 9k or so and serviced regularly and in 2 years I have had it ,its been a good motor.
9 times out of 10 someone who is selling a car is doing so for a reason and most of the time its because work needs doing and they don't want to spend anything on it, so that is left to whoever is unfortunate to buy it,
I work with a guy who has a 53 1.4 megane who says will never buy renault again, he never does annual oil changes, its never been serviced not even air filter and he wonders why it breaks down.

easy tiger, that's radical thinking to some folk on here . next thing you know, you'll be talking preventative action
