Redex petrol additive

Postby wxmexile » Tue Aug 04, 2009 7:15 pm

I've been putting redex petrol additive in my megane (54 1.4 rush, 47,000) for quite a while now and it seems to be improving fuel economy, have read a few reviews on other sites / forums and many people saying its a waste of time / its a physcological thing. any thoughts / opnions? anyone else use it in there megane...... does it really do what it says on the tin?

shell petrol is poor! youd need red ex to remove the sh1t they put in it lol...

i work in the fuel industry! Esso or (ROK) is your best bet!

had a drama with redex years ago poured a load into the tank of my old V-hall Cav, 1 day and 125 mile journey later two fuel lines under the bonnet were chucking the unleaded jungle juice out like no tomorrow, the crap in lines had become part of the line, clean it out and we have a leak, so yes the redex works, my cav did not.....

lol @ bumpy.

I've worked with (with.. not FOR) Total and I think they're alright.
I prefer Shell as my fuel choice.. i stay away from BP and Esso. Texaco i can't remember using...

now see i dont understand why people do this. i mean fair play, if thats what you want to do thats fine but its free and in many cases common knowledge that BP and ESSO are the two stations you really do not want to avoid.
the fuel used in both these stations is very similar however esso uses superior additives.
shells fuel is almost pure.... this is a very bad thing!
total and texico are not refined fully so you get lots of contaminants
BP and esso use way way more additives to improve performance, but fot the same price as competitors, not only will this get you further but it will get you there quicker, cheeper, and it wont bung your engine up with contaminants. esso fual is officially the safest, most economical, fuel on the market today!

dont even get me started on the supermarkets.... bloody hell! and people dont begin to think why its actually so cheep? youd be better using diet pepsi than that stuff lol

a guess at the end of the day its what is convenient though... ie there being a texico at the end of your road or somethin lol.

I use supermarkets 95% of the time and have done since i remember, never a problem, performance is good, economy good and never had any problems with fuel system or running. Reason it's cheaper is they have buying power same as anything else more you buy bigger discounts you get.
Guess it's down to personal choice at the end of the day.
