Has anybody ever replaced the handle caps?
Do you have to take the door panel off the inside and unscrew them?
I've heard u can just clip them on and off from the outside...

Re: handles help
Removing the end caps on any of the doors is quite easy , when you open the door there is a rubber bung at about the handles height , remove this and if you look inside there is a leaver just hook it and pull towards you the door end cap will then pull out. remember to push the leaver back into place when you have replaced the end cap.
The front doors are easier to do that the rear as you can actually see the leaver, I bought my end caps a couple of years ago for £10 off ebay but I have heard of people getting them replaced FOC by renault

Re: handles help
I phoned the local renault dealership - via the Servicing section and they said...
That the handles were not covered under the corrosion paint sections of the warranty - and so it would be £100 a handle to replace entire unit.
Does anyone have any ammunition I could use to say, they are wrong, or do I just need to find a decent renault dealer that would be more willing to oblige....
I'm away to look for this lever you're talking about !

Re: handles help
I am a Muppet, but I pulled out the bung, used a torch, but couldn't really identify any lever at the front or back doors....
I wish I was better with cars !
Would it help if I took the door panel off ?

Re: handles help
Just to refresh my memory I took the bung out of the drivers side to have a look what the lever looks like. When you look into the hole where the bung is all you will see is a silver metallic piece. this is the lever just make a hook out of a metal clothes hanger or the like and pull it towards you from the bottom it doesn't move that far the end cap will then pull out with ease .
just remember to put the lever back as this locks the end cap in place.
the rear ones require a little more fishing to get at
I was going to take a photo but the sun was blaring and the process of doing it was so simple i didn't think photos would be needed

Re: handles help
Thanks Sav, I did it, whooop whooop ! It is fairly easy, just a bit of perseverance, and I suppose you need the right kind of light outside to be able to peer inside the door cavity.
Next I'm off to the junk yard to get the replacement parts, should have all 4 caps replaced for £10 ! yeeeeeeowwww !!!
