Basically I ordered tyres from My Tyres at the beginning of January, recieved an email stating should have these on the 18th, perfect I thought.
The tyres never came contacted My Tyres on the 22nd, who stated the two tyres were held at the depot and I would be contacted back ( never was)
I contacted the Depot who stated the tyres were lost, I again contacted My Tyres who stated replacements would be sent out, later that day received a call from the delivery company (DPD) who asked for me to confirm the size, I was then told, the label had fallen off and I should recieve them on the 26th so the replacements were cancelled.
The tyres never came, contacted the depot again and was told the driver had forgotten to put them on the van, and again promised the tyres the morning of the 27th. My wife this time took annual leave to wait for the tyres, we contacted the depot to find out a time, and guess what was told there were not on the van. A brief heated discussion and the tyres were delivered that morning.
I sent an email of complaint to My Tyres, and the next day received a PayPal payment for a refund of the full payment , this refund was titled compensation.
Today received an email asking for me to pay the amount back ?

Tell them you paid, wait for approximately 6 months, and if they contact you, just E-mail them and tell them that the money must have been lost on the way to them. Promise to pay next day, wait for another 6 months or so. By this time you would have used the tires, and tell them you are not satisfied with tyres, and that you want to return them back to them by DPD.
I used to work for DPD in Denmark, they don't give a sh.t if something gets lost. We had parcels travelling between Denmark and Sweden for over 40 times (yes, forty times to Sweden and back to Denmark) because the bar code was not read properly the first time the parcel got in our depot. They never made a fuss about it, they just laughed and they never did anything about the people (usually some stupid chicks who just put another label sending parcel back to where it came from Sweden, instead to label it correctly and send it to the correct hub). There were cases when whole trailers full of parcels were scanned wrong. Eventually, I got fired (with zero mistakes in scanning), and they employed more chicks (who sometimes came stoned to work).

wait for another email then if it says something along the lines about previously contacting you, send one back asking what they are on about... 
surely with a reference in paypal saying compensation you dont have to do a thing? they've clearly admitted fault and given you compensation. think i'd give citizens advice a phonecall

Well I did reply asking if my complaint is being dealt with ( copy also sent) also asked why doid I recieve full refund stating compensation a day after I wrote the complaint, no reply as yet.
