Turtle Wax

Postby gav1pam » Sat Aug 08, 2009 9:42 am

I decided to wax my Meg last week,
Like a T**t i knocked a bottle turtle wax over my brick paved drive.
Now i cant get it off. I've tried washing up liquid, Bleach, even Acetone and a wire brush.
I even resorted to segting the Acetone alight to try and burn the wax away!
All these efforts with no luck.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

You could try with a pressure washer.

Maybe brakecleaner or motorcleaner will do the trick, both are agressive and designed to remove grease and wax. You can get them as aerosol.

Most of the things that you can get need to be used straight away. I had some stuff called aggresor which I got through work, I think it's only available to businesses but if you know anyone with a business you can ask and see if they'll get you some. I don't have any left these days but iirc you apply as soon as possible scrub in hard to the affected area, then leave for 5 minutes and wash off, repeat if needed.

Otherwise I would be tempted to give Jeyes fluid a try, same application as above. You'll either love or hate the smell of it, I love it :D Careful though it mullers plants, grass etc so ensure that it doesn't go anywhere near your garden, and don't let pets or children anywhere near the area until it's been rinsed off properly.

i agree with the jayes fluid, horrible smelling stuff...also, if you have pets, make sure you clean off well as it can burn the paws on their feet
