Megane Starting Problems RESOLVED!!

Postby IrvinsMegane » Mon Jun 29, 2009 4:10 pm

Ive had my megane since november now and on a number of occasions the car just does not want to start,
Its been to the garage a number of times now and the told us the problems are: FAULTY KEY, IMMOBILISER,
And ive seen on here people have been told its the Camshaft/Dephaser,

For The 4th time the car wouldnt start, and today i got a recovery agent out to come and get my car home,
After 30 Mins fiddling with the car he checked out the starter motor, He gave it one knock as i tried starting it
and the car fired up straight away,
So It was the starter motor sticking at a certain point guys, 1 Knock On it and your car should start too, FIngers Crossed!!

SO FOR EVERYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM IT SHOULD BE YOUR STARTER MOTOR,

If Not I Cannot Help You Any Further Sorry,

All The Best, I Hope This Helps You, IRVIN

Takes me back to my old Austin Maxi, for months i used to have to go under bonnet and hit the starter motor to start it. If i was on my own i had to turn key then whilst under bonnet short 2 terminals on the starter with a long screwdriver and hit it with hammer :D
