Conservatory solar inserts

Has anyone on here got solar inserts fitted inside conservatory roof to reduce heat and light intensity?

Had a guy in to quote for roof blinds and after he quoted £1446 (i know i didn't realise Renault did them either!) he said we could get solar inserts which were a lot cheaper £270 (better). Anyway researched them and found i can get them supply only £156 (even better) but would like to know if the written hype on websites is true. Are they as good as claimed in reducing heat.
