to save one looking thru the manual... ignition off, open your door so that everything switches off, pull the left stalk toward you (as if switching on mains lights) and the lights will power on for about 30 seconds i believe.

Just flash your full beam before getting out of the car
and they stay on for 30 seconds

The way to do this is to get(tell) the good lady to stand on the step holding a torch until you're safely in the car.
Try it it works ;-)

I'm afraid yohan re-marriage might be the only option.
Trade her in for a better model (one with a built in torch)
I have nothing but praise for mine, only tonight i was due to go and see the big match (Accrington v Darlington) unfortunately it was called off due to weather. Texted "her who knows best" to say it was off and get rid of her bloke as i was on way home! Got home within 45mins and she had a lovely cottage pie on the table waiting.
Bit different to the luke warm pasty i was expecting to have for dinner tonight.
Missed the match but least i had a nice dinner.
Happy hunting.
