Fuel Consumption?

Would you agree that there is a considerable difference in fuel consumption between cruising at '55' and '70' MPH within the petrol range? Not taking into consideration engine variants?

It's not just the petrol engine Megane's that are more efficient when cruising at slower speeds the Diesels are too.
Make improvements, not excuses!

definitely, my mpg goes up 5-7mpg when i drop to 55 from 70.
Megane II dynamique 1.9 DCI 120bhp, 5 door, 52 plate.

Yes, but I would say it depends on where on the rev range your maximum torque is
