MOT

Postby nickbell69 » Sun Nov 09, 2008 12:25 pm

Well that time of year came around again, yeah MOT time
Took it in to a garage i hadn't tried before(small independant) AND BINGO IT PASSED
I was very surprised as last year i had an advisory that front discs were close to a fail. 26000miles later they are still there and fine. Asked the tester if any advisorys this year and he said no car was in good condition.
Did do the old trick of wire brushing around brakes and fastening back seat belts taught to me by my old dad, could be a myth but i'm sure it helps!!!
Anyway heres to another 12months worry free motoring

My dad was a mechanic for all his working life and he told me when getting car ready for test and checking brake pads etc wire brush anything you can under ther and it looks like someone has checked the car over that knows what they are doing!!! Then fasten rear seat belts(you'll notice they're always fastened when they come back from test) that also looks like a mechanic has checked car over. Therefore they're less likely to fail it.
And i must say i've never had a terrible MOT failure.
