quite happy with it, like you said,it was worth going all that way for...even if it did take me 14..yes 14 hrs to get back home cos it was the weekend before christmas when all the snow arrived, just as i was setting off back actually :cry
it`s not been without fault though..front wishbone bushes, strut top bearings (still to do) and faulty fuel flap lock that decided to show itself just when i needed fuel and could`nt get the flap open :eek ..seems to be good on the diesel though, regularly getting 44/50 mpg on a short (7miles) trip to work, went on a karting race weekend recently and even managed 62mpg with my double deck trailer, kart, and a car full of spares and camping gear..albeit at a steady 60mph,still not bad though

Glad it all worked out, I get 39 to 40 on my 8 mile trip to work but that's mostly uphill whereas I get anywhere between 45 and 55 on my return journey depending on whether I get held up at lights / junctions etc.

Your trailered up and fully laden journey consumption of 62 is fantastic. The best I have got from mine is 63 on a 85 mile trip up to Keswick the other week and my overall average, according to the car comp, is 44.5 however, I only have 4300 miles on her yet so plenty more to come I feel.

Bidey grow up, this is friendly forum where people share and, as time goes on people change cars. I actualy drive a Skoda Octavia vRS but, if you look at my join date on here you don't have to be a genius to realise that I might have had one or more Meg IIs in the past and, just like only diesels we both have knowledge and experience with the Meg II marque to pass on in order to help people out, such as the bad smell in your Meg.
