afew question i hope some of you can help with.

Will the 225 calipers bolt direct onto 1.9dci hubs? If so which disks and pads will work with them? (obviously normal 225 disks are 5 stud and my dci is 4 stud)

Where is can i get ferado 2500 pads for the 1.9dci calipers with brembo disks? (i dont want ebc, ive had them before and they were terrible)

Where can i get some oe replacement rears disks and pads? Do i need to replace the bearing aswel or can i just get the disks and pads?

cheers

No as the 225 calipers are radially mounted and the 225 is a 5 stud hub, HOWEVER, i am drawing some caliper mounting brackets in 'CAD' as we speak, once i have prototyped them and ensure they are good for fit i shall get them made by my old company (https://www.jwaracing.com) and if you are interested i could get a pair made for you? At cost of course, i will be using 325mm 2 piece discs, the bells from my od company and rotors sourced elsewhere.
The 225 has a different suspension setup to the normal megane family. I have my brembo 225 calipers stripped down and being powder coated as we speak :-)
I have a dci 1.9, but i am going to proove over the next 6 months that a diesel car can be tuned as good as those petrol cars both handling and power.
(Im a race engineer by trade)...
For pads etc, try 'yozza sport', i know andrew the proprieter.

I know its not quite on topic, but when i move off in first gear, especialy when turning full lock and moving off, I get a 'metal on metal' grinding noise from my Near side front wheel area.

Any ideas what this maybe?

Yea it could be described as a knocking sound... It only can be felt/heard at low speed/gear when moving off, especially on an incline and when turning to full lock. Could you elaborate on CV joint.

Thanks,

P

freddymercurystwin wrote:Ha, I knew you’d ask that! Assuming you’re using a low-mid priced independent garage if its just the gaiter and repacking with grease and they use the ones that don’t involve taking the driveshaft/hub apart it won’t be much say £40, if a new CV joint is required it’ll be say £100, my prices are very approximate though and you should get the garage to confirm it is a CV joint that needs doing prior to them actually doing it.

I had a look today, the gaiter is like day one. But for sure its a knocking sound. How could i determin if its the CV joint or not? Do you have a link to the megane stearing set up, something that would let me know what a CV joint looks like in the meg?

Thanks for the help chum, its much appreciated.
