front suspension springs

hi there i was driving my car and the top coil of the passenger spring had sheared off the car has only done 30,000 miles is this common and also i got told that the springs get changed in pairs is this a garage con??

they quoted me 200 pound for both is it a really hard job to change? how much are the springs?

Speaking from experience with dealers most gen springs do come in pairs. But if your fitting an aftermarket one just go with the one. An aftermarket one should be about £40.

dont know in the uk, but here to change the whole set of shocks together with the springs will cost you only £25-£30..

well thanks for the info will get both done not getting after market so will do both shame its so close to xmas

snap mate, mine snapped last thursday. i replaced them as a pair. i recommend you do the same. so the car is even.
