service

Postby dci120matt » Sat Jan 05, 2008 4:26 pm

hi all, my car is coming up to its 36k mile service, but i dont want to take it to renault for cost reasons, i was thinking of getting the parts from renault and getting a mechanic who usually does my cars to do it, the trouble is i cant find any of my paperwork or books so i am just going to get

oil
oil filter
pollen filter
air filter
coolant
brake fluid

is there anything i have missed? i am not going to replace glowplugs as my car starts fine in all weathers. cheers

When are you going to change the belts, the next year? The coolant can wait until then. It is usually changed with replacement of the pump.

A few other things are also usually checked in the service...

i went on to my nearest renault minute dealers website as i was told they were doing an offer on servicing, they do have one on the 3 year service but my car will be 4 years old in june, but i will only have done 36k so is that classed as the 3 year service as thats what they predict the milage to be after 3 years?

its called the 3 years + service mate so you car being 4 years old that shouldnt matter at all, and like you say its 36k old now too, the 3 year service is usually 36 anyway.
