The black hinge pins have sheered off and the door is currently lying on the floor as it was when I took the car (garage agreed to fix but never did, but they will). Any way, is this a new glove box or a new door or can you purchase these black hinge pins?

New glove box is £230 so I can understand why the garage are being rather stubborn

Yes,

If you break your glove box door hinges then you can buy the black hinge pins for around £2-50 a pair. Fitting is a little tricky as you have to remove the trim near to the door and near the footwell to gain access to the fixings (6 off in total). 1/2 hr labour max if you know what your doing.

Purchasing just the hinges will save you a lot and they are easily available, you can buy it on any hardware store. Many people face this issue with glove compartment, they should know this small fix.
