Sell it and buy the 2.0ltr version.

Thats what i said earlier in the thread :D which is probably the cheapest way

only other real option is making it breath better with a performance manifold and exhaust system including de-cat or performance cat and induction kit, if you want to go all the way get a decent cam kit then a re-map to suit the mods.

after all this hard work and expence you should hold off the 2.0.

just fitted an itg air filter, its gave it a bit more kick and improved mpg. would recommend it. the paper filter i took out of it was well overdue a change!

that's good, but i think that any sporty air filter doesn't improve anything for overall performance. i think that it's only a psychological feeling as result of louder sound 8-) --> this gives the feeling of more power and torque.

If you compare stock filter to an after market you can see a BIG difference, the stock is paper and is really dense.

For power I had no idea of the gains as I never did a dyno, but for economy it definately gets more mileage.

I dont know if anyone here already said this, but another good option to improve the performance of your engine can be done by using iridium spark plugs and if you can find them with four electrodes, better.

I had a DENSO iridium spark plug in my meg and change them for a BOSCH iridium with 4 electrodes spark plugs and they really make a difference. I had better acceleration and response and the the mpg are few more.

And right now im planning to install an air induction kit, hope it will work great. I'll tell you later.

Sporty air filters tech. is to permit higher airflow intake causing higher consumption, and a much more response. so, the purpose is full exploitation of the car existing power only. however, others say that airfilters (K&N) increase bhp from 1-4 and consequently, acceleration becomes better.

which is correct? :-(

speedy_glz: i just fitted NGK iridium spark plugs.
