my second gear is fine. i dont really care if its not as powerful as a dci, cause its very comfortable, smooth, quiet and reliable, (touch wood!).
i think i will stick with it so long as it gives me no problems. im gonna fit my iridium sparks this week.mines the same colour as yours mr asia, and ive got the panoramic sunroof too!

the point is that it was also lacking power in 2nd gear before 17" rims when i had the 15". anyhow, it is not a big issue for the car as whole...
so, mrAisa, do u recommend that i buy the irridium spark plugs or not ??
snowy, please inform us of the irridium spark plugs as soon as u fit it in?

If you get bigger rims you should be putting smaller walled tyres so they should still be nearly the same size. I have 18's on and they are 1 mm smaller than my 16's because the side wall is only 40 not 65 like the old ones. There is a handy site that calculates it all for you and shows you how much your speedo will be out, ill try and find the link.

Back from Zafira hell....... Good to be home. Number 3 scenic bought and "im lovin it"
u know, the problem of feeling the lack of power in low revs in Megane is the technology of its engine..
i mean that any car has coils/wires attached to the spark plugs from one side and to the engine from the other side.. however, in our car the spark plugs are attached directly to the engine (with neither coils nor wires)..
theoretically, this tech. should decrease petrol consumption and increase efficiency (power and response) i suppose

meganes have coil packs attached to each sparky, so we have four coils each fed LT to produce the HT at the correct time by the CPU, in days of old you had one coil feeding the distributor cap which fed the volts to the correct spark plug according to the rotor position. this distributor and single coil was evantually replaced by electronic timing pack still fed out four invidual HT lines now replaced with the four coil packs per individual sparky, in theory this should be more reliable less power buzzing around and less distance for it to travel before producing the spark, but that assumes that the coil packs renault used were good stock.
Bumpy and full of coconuts.

You wont see anything it is all ECU related
The 1st one i had chipped by was my swift gti with a BBR starchip 12 years ago... the ECU was removed the original chip de-soldered and the new one soldered in hard work! gained 6bhp but raised my rev limiter from 7800rpm to 9000rpm... but now it is all done by computer nice and easy!
