Alright, ive just called renault to order some parts i priced up last week, and ive now been told that i cant buy an undertray without buying the full front bumper and the grills are now nearly twice as much,

so just wondering if anyone knows if the 225ff, cup, trophies etc are priced differently at renault.

or is the parts guy ive been speaking to just incapable of reading a computer screen,

cheers

I think the undertray does only come with the front bumper. As for the grilles they are quite expensive.

just been down to the renault dealers in newcastle to order the grills, and the darlington dealers had cocked up there only £75 inc vat not £108 exc, but big problem being that i cant buy an undertray seperatly, have to buy the full bumper which seems rediculous to me like.

i've got the same problem and the place i brought the bumper from won't refund. I'm unsure what to do now as the undertray strenghens the bumper etc. I've though about making one from a large plastic sheet and fitting. I might have to lose £180 and buy a new bumper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there R55VYS, which dealers in Newcastle did you go to for the grilles? ( I am assuming you mean the RS grilles)

Benfield Gateshead quoted me just short of £100 for the undertray section of the bumper, when I ran a bird over on the motorway and it destroyed mine!

Yeah it was the benfield renault stealers, i only work 5 mins away. yeah it was the rs grills i bought front and back.

the undertray i was after is from the rs 225 bumper not the standard bumper, im taking it you have a std front on, because aparently the 225 undertray can only be bought with the front bumper, althought they did give me a price for it at some point of 60+ vat but having been down and spoke to them face to face, they wont sell me one.

Yeah mate, the car is totally standard.

The parts dept. at Gateshead Benfield are sh@t! I think they get a new trainee every time i call.

If you have any dealings with them ask to speak to Keith, he seems to be the man in the know.

Yeah i dont think there too clued up down there like, but if you go down there helpfull enough, theres usually two guys, an old guy and a guy with glasses, both sound, but useless, aparently theres a lad who works there whos doing a 225 conversion aswell, but hes never in when i go down so aint had chance to have a bit crack with him yet.

you guys are crazy! £100! im sure you could either make one of these or get one made from alluminium if you checked out a light engineering company! would definitley be superior to a plastic one as well. take some measurments of the hole pattern and get some quotes first.
hello, by the way.

Take the measurements, fax me a sketch and I'll draw it up for you on CAD ready for CNC manufacture and folding. Some 3mm aluminium would be perfect, although 1.6mm mild steel would be stronger and cheaper - just would need a coat of paint or waxoil.
