Nervasport 17" Alloys..215 45 or 215 40 tyres?

Hi folks. I'm New to this forum and looking a bit of advice on which tyres look and handle the best on Nervasport 17" alloys....215 45's or 215 40's? I know the 45's would probably give a better ride but I hear they have a higher side wall I might look a bit too much like a 50 tyre! Please correct me if I am wrong!

Conti Sport 5 215/50R17 91W (1.57% speed error) - strong side wall, 'square' enough for stability, very controllable. Do not choose lower profile, as it will affect handling and tolerance to puncture. The profiles 45 and 40 in this size require the rim 7'' wide, and yours are 6.5''.
