Cleaning Engine Bay

Postby Ldthomas » Tue May 21, 2013 3:44 pm

Anybody cleaned their engine bay with a product?

Mine is pretty dirty atm but want to get rid of all the dirt and grease thats going on under there... was looking at some autoglym engine bay cleaner or meguiars engine cleaner...but open to trying anything youve had experience with.
The main reason is the outside and inside of my meggy is always spotless...why not keep bay up to scratch too?

Any help or advice is great.

You're not so bad with a diesel but still need to cover all and any electrics with plastic bags and seal them then, use an engine degreaser and rinse off after the recommended time with an open ended house by trickling the water for as short a time as possible.

You can also ask on the clean your car detailing forum ;)

I cleaned the bay up in my 206 with Muc Off bike cleaner that I had lying around and it worked great! A bit of tire shine rubbed onto the plastics and it looks a whole lot better!

Granted it didn't look amazing, but it was a 1.1 Peugeot.
