I have managed to get the garage that I am buying my Megane from to also get the timing belt and water pump replaced at trade price for £170 plus VAT!
I was quoted £325 - £350 from 2 independents so well pleased.
When saw the car prior to putting an offer down I did look at the belt that was connected to the starter motor, I presume this is the timing belt.
Can I ask those that have had a cam belt replaced if you can tell its a new belt with out a doubt? Are there any coloured logos or wording on it? Should it look matt or a bit shiny?
Just want a heads up before I pick the car up later this week.
Thanks in advance
Silvio

The belt you can see is the accessories belt, ie water pump and alternator, the timing belt is behind a plastic cover
