Seen some good reviews of this - considering it for my 2004 1.9dci.
Anyone tried it or have a better alternative? This car is new to me so I'd like to clean the fuel system a clear out. Does Renault suggest NOT using such cleaners (as some manufacturers do)?
Anyone tried BG244 Diesel Fuel System Cleaner

On another tdi forum peeps are using 2 stroke oil, and reporting smoother drive, idle, better mpg , lower emissions and less smoke.

Look into the MSDS sheet first. It lists the main ingredients of the blend. Don't use it if the data sheets are not available.
Of all common in the UK products only Comma Diesel Detox, Motul and Amsoil make sense. Many others are just kerosene with a drop of cetane improver. I haven't looked at BG244 yet.
In any case, don't forget to drain water from the fuel filter or change it. A tank of Vpower burnt on motorway in one go will also help. This stuff is not a replacement for a good quality engine oil/filter changed annually, and the EGR with crankcase ventilation system cleaning.

As a professional I only ever use Forte. It's expensive for a reason. Because it's the best.
