Rear elec window problem any1 familiar with the wiring loom?

Postby Johannesbelsebubb » Sat Aug 13, 2011 3:27 pm

Hi, my wife's 54 reg 1.9 dci dynamique has suffered from the infamous window regulator failures and has had all the window regs changed to non renault aftermarket regs over our 5 years of ownership.

Recently i've had to change the wiring loom on the front passenger door as water had got into the loom plug that fits to the regulator. Now 'that' replacement regulator has failed, so i'm on my 3rd regulator in 6 years on that door! Rubbish design!

However, the rear offside window is exhibiting some rather non-standard 'regulator failing' behaviour. I can open the window on the drivers window control panel but not close it there. At the rear offside door window switch I can close the window but not open it there.

I have a spare regulator (always handy, everyone should have one :-) ) and have tested the loom and door switch and have swapped the looms and door switches over, to no avail. So it appears to me that there is a problem with the wiring or other control aspects of this window.

Is anyone familiar with the wiring and what other components might play a role in this behaviour? I noted on one post that there are some relays. Do these play a role in the two way switching of the windows?

Thanks.

You could try the UCH, someone recommended checking the contacts on that. Its on the passenger side somewhere around the footwell. If your carpets are or have been wet there it may be worth a try.
