fuel filter

Just done a quick service on my 1.6 petrol Megane 2 but I'm blowed if I can find the fuel filter, can anyone help ?

i think is hidden behind the drivers side head light opposite side to the battery

thanks for the reply mate, I had a quick look earlier and the only thing in that area seems to be the dryer can for the air-con so I'm going to spend a bit more time tomorrow. Thanks again

I think Grosseberger is correct. I believe it is near the washer bottle and a bugger to get at. If you remove the o/s/f wheel and take off the plastic wheel arch liner you should see it on the right as you're looking into the wheel arch.

Hi all, I am also seaching for the fuel filter on my 1.6 16v petrol and cannot find it, it is not located behind the o/s headlight as suggested, it is on diesel cars, but NOT on petrol's anyone help with this problem, many thanks.

It's located on the rear left side of the car under the fuel tank/next to the rear left tyre.Need to lift car up to be able to see it. :-)

i was informed that the fuel filter was built into the tank and could not be changed

It is integrated inside the fuel gauge in the fuel tank. Not necessary to change it.

Just changed mine abt a month ago,but was told that it wasn't necessary too.Did it as part of my normal servicing.

R u refering to the megane II 1.6 16V?B'cos mine is located on the undercarriage next to the rear left tyre.

R u refering to the megane II 1.6 16V?B'cos mine is located on the undercarriage next to the rear left tyre.

There are certain models up to certain year of production that has fuel filter. Others don't. It's a Renault thing. :mrgreen:

ya correct....
esp FL ones.
the fuel pump has:
1. fuel strainer
2. fuel pressure regulator
3. fuel gauge sending unit
4. pump motor.

all these f(n) in one unit....strainer is the filter.

I too am looking for the fuel filter on my 2007 1.6 petrol scenic, i gave the motor factors the reg and it cam back as just a metal canister type with a pipe each end, I have just been under the car and cannot find anything like it all i can see is next to the fuel tank just infront of passenger rear wheel is a funny rectangular shape plastic item with what looks like fuel pipes attached at the 1 end, any ideas ? thanks
