Front Wipers.... FLAT OR STANDARD????? please help....

Hi guys, just a quick one.... I've just called to order some new front wipers on my 54 1.6 5-Door Megane 2 - they asked if i needed "flat" wipers or the Standard ones.... as there is 20 quid between them and only use the car for 40 mins a day i opted for the cheeper "standard" wiper, at which point she told me if i had flat ones i'd have to buy flat as the others wouldnt fit......... is this correct ???

yes she's correct but it doesn't apply to you.
The newer "flat" blades are on modern cars and on the phase 2 and 3 meganes. They have a different arm to the standard wiper arm (with the U bend at the end) and so standard blades don't fit on them.

With the older U bend wiper arms, you can get standard bow type blades or get "retro fit" flat ones. personally, I think you should get the kind that came with the car. I found the retro fit ones aren't as good unless the car was designed to take them (in which case they're actually standard fit but a different design wiper altogether)

I think the flat blades look a lot better and can purchase half decent ones off ebay for around £7......... first thing I do when getting another car, flat blades.....
