Ignition Coil Packs

Postby chatters » Wed Sep 08, 2010 4:58 pm

Can you help identify if these are the correct coil packs for my Megane 225 sport, the coils that I found in the car are part number 77 00 875 000 and they were fitted by the garage I purchased the car from and the car has now been diagnosed has having an ECU problem which I have been told is down to the coil packs spiking the ECU.
The garage have said that this is not possible but the specialist says different and when I went to my local Renault Dealer he has supplied me with 4 new coil packs but their part number is 82 00 765 882 which is different. Can anyone tell me if these are the same parts and if Renault have just changed the part number and is it correct that faulty ignition coils can spike and damage an ECU.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure about the part number but coil packs can certainly spike ECUs as they fail. Well known with Peugeots and Fiats, so don't see why Renault would be any different.

82 00 765 882 and 77 00 875 000 are interchangeable. The problem could be that they were not installed properly.
