Megane Door Hinges

Hi Guys,

My first post here! Hope you can help! I have a 53 plate 3dr megane (2.0l 16v vvt) When i open the drivers door i get 3 large cracking sounds coming from the door hinge - the actual sound is coming from the 90 deg box that is above the hinge.

I have searched forums and have seen loads of different fixes. I reckon its going to be easier to just replace the hinge itself.

Does anybody know where i can buy these from, i Have searched on ebay and have found i can get them for £35 quid. Also contacted breakers yards etc and it seems £35 is the going rate, Any ideas where these can be bought from at a lower price?!?

Look forward to your responses

Cheers all

I know what this problem is, had it on mine, really can't remember what the fix was, guess my response is fairly pointless!lol i'll be trying to think what it was...

I remember it was something that needed tightning, it was the part that was loose that was making the cracking, I can't remember if it was in that box or not tho... But it was as simple as just tightning a bit up n greasing it... Hope that helps, she doesn't have the car anymore otherwise I'd check...

Hi guys, i just replaced the unit itself it was easy enough.

I went on a few breaker yard sites and managed to get one for £12 delivered, Hold the door up, undo a couple of bolts change the unit and pop the door back on - piece of cake :D Took me and my mate about 15mins to do.

The pin inside the unit had sprung away from the cogs etc so you cant repair it

good luck
