The water pumps are around £30. The belt kit (including tensioner) is around £120. Coolant and brake fluid should be about £20 each. As for the oil and filter, say £40 for a decent spec. The air filters I'm guessing at ~£30 too.

So £260 for bits. You paid them £222 per hour. Ripped off? Yes. Get half back and have a good Christmas!

They charged you for the water pump labour, which includes the belts and coolant change labour, then charged you for the belts labour, then for the coolant labour, etc. Check the labour times by Dialogys and claim your money back.

Check what oil they used, BTW. It is likely that it is not what you want to have.

One obvious thing is the £102 for labour on the water pump, it shouldn't be anything like that when changed at the same time as the belts, that labour cost would be to remove the belts fit the pump and put belts back, bit seeing that they had to remove the belts to change them and the pimp will have been fitted at this time, there is no justification for that high labour charge!!

I'd go back to them about all the labour charge. This is how the service is done:

1) Remove bumper and under tray (time 10 minutes).
2) Remove radiator bottom hose (time 5 seconds)
3) Open bleed valves and wait (time 5 minutes while doing 4). Drop oil, remove filter.
4) Remove road wheel and arch covers (2 minutes).
5) Remove small bracket (30 seconds)
6) Jack under sump or engine hoist to remove right hand upper mount (time @15 minutes)
7) Aux belt off (time 1 minute)
8) Timing cover off (2 minutes)
9) Timing belt off (1 minute)
10) Water pump and tensioner off (5 minutes)
11) Fit new pump, gasket and tensioner, crankshaft pulley and belt (10 minutes)
12) Everything from item seven backwards except add things rather than take them off (add the time up)

As you can see - all the labour is part and parcel of the same job. You have to remove one thing to do the next. A dealership should be able to do this in an hour.

The air filters take seconds to change.

Dialogys gives two options for almost any operation, to have it as a part of a bigger operation or to count it separately. Just take Dialogys and check the labour times.

The water pump replacement includes drainage and re-filling the cooling system. You were charged twice here. They probably used the figure for the pump replacement carried out after removal of the belts, but before draining the coolant.

The labour costs seem to be wrong. The labour time to replace belts on this engine is about an hour, i.e. about £75. There is no way they spent 4.5 hours on this. The total labour cost of £767 points at them working the whole day on the car, charging you £100 per hour. Did they keep the car for the whole day (8 hours)?

You will have to change the oil they put in the car as soon as possible. It will cause damage. It must be of ACEA C4 or RN0720 type. In the earlier models with particulate filters ACEA C3 was used due to lack of C4 supply, all these cars will fail due to wrong oil (similar to the early 1.9dci failing due to use of mineral oils). The dealers are still using the obsolete specs to increase the profit margins. In your case, however, they did worse.

ELF COMPETITION ST 10W40, which they used is RN0700 only. It is not suitable for Renault diesel engines and for diesels with FAP in particular. Don't drive the car with this oil. If your car is on finance, then you must notify the finance company of this issue in writing.
