Removing central dash?
Hi - Re: the dash part that holds everything from the key card slot up to the air con controls, apart from removing the 2 screws at the bottom, does anybody know how to unclip the rest... I can't work it out? Cheers!

Re: Removing central dash?
No worries, I took the stereo out and found the other two screws behind! Job done.

Re: Removing central dash?
Are you planning to paint the central console?

Re: Removing central dash?
I've started experimenting - I have a spare central dash and I sprayed that silver, after cleaning it thoroughly and roughing it up with a dry washing up sponge, as I've read elsewhere. Gave it 4 coats of Plasti-Kote silver, all looking good, then sprayed with Plasti-Kote's clear laquer and it gunked up and spread itself unevenly so looked quite poor. Left it to dry and will take a look at it later this week, may need to sand down and start again, don't know what happened there. I may just try doing it with silver spray and hoping it does not chip off.

re: plasticote spraypaint
just sprayed the gear knob insert (see removal instructions elsewhere) with plasticote silver after roughing with dish scourer.
2 good coats of paint only seems to be pretty tough (1/2hr between coats, left to dry inside overnight), fingers crossed. colour is slightly different to standard gaiter ring and handbrake handle, but good match for honeycomb pattern dash panel, so if paint turns out to be a good long term fix will spray handbrake arm and gaiter ring too
