04 Megane 1.9 DCI Dynamique 5DR *HANDLES*

Hi,

I'm just new to all this and have just recently bought a 2004 Megane 1.9dci Dynamique 5DR.

What I'm wondering is the door small oval shaped part, beside the door handle is peeling off. Mine are like a silver plastic covering. I've looked on ebay for replacement parts and they seem to all state that they are for the passenger door.

Does anyone know where I could buy these for the driver's side as on both doors and one for the passenger's side? I asked my local Renault dealer and they tried to sell me complete new door handles!!

Any help is really appreciated.

For niggly things like this I suggest trying eBay France. Dont really know why, but they seem to have more of a range than UK. The passenger one is more common because it comes off for the emergency key, so people are likely to lose it eventually.

Okay...I didn't know that! Like I said this is all new!

I'll give ebay France a go and see how I go.

But if anyone else knows of anything at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Did you search in french or english?

In english....I translated the website...my GCSE French could only carry me so far, I doubt I could manage it.

Any tips?

Yea a translator website generally works one way, it translates what you read, not type.

You have to search in French..

Translate the words first then copy and paste them in... Not to forget in the French language the words don’t always come in the same order as in English.. Where we say ‘door handles’ the French say ‘handles of the door’...

Does it actually matter between passenger and drivers side?? you may find they are the same but I am quessing as im ot 100% on what part your talking about. Pic would help if you have one.

This is the product offered on ebay. Its the emergency lock cover for the front passenger side. However I dodnt need this part. I need the other 3! The siler plastic cover is cracked and peeling off.

Any ideas?

I contacted my local Renault breaker and he said that any damaged Megane coming in has the same problems. I thought of it was such a common problem Renault or someone would know of a suitable solution??

I've only ever drive VW before and spare trim etc. was always easy to come by.

My drivers side 'plain' cover is peeling too. Looks bobbins!

Will the passenger side cover not fit the drivers side?

edit: just remembered about the hole in it to prise it off. It would show the hole if you put it on the drivers side! DOH!

The hole is only on the plastic cap, not on the handles. So the passanger side would fit you would just need the end cap from the drivers side....

I know mate that's why I said that. He is only after the end caps not the full handle.
