Fitting tow bar

I am looking to fitting a tow bar to my Sport Tourer, and am just wondering if this is possible to do it yourself. Or is it better to leave it to the garage? I have installed one on another car once, but that was an older car - more suitable for DIY.

Anyone with any experience to share?

I've been considering the same... if you go on ebay you will find new tow bar kits for sale that provide links to download the fitting instructions. This will give you good idea of what to expect, it looks straight forward and the holes are pre-drilled it seems (being covered with tape) just some sealing to cut away ... but hopefully someone on here who has done the job may be able to shed more light on it... ?

Thanks for the tip of finding fitting instructions on ebay, that gave me a certain idea of what to expect... And it does seem as I will leave this to a garage. Could be taking some time, if I were to do it myself.

I fitted one to our CC and it was quite simple to do.

Bumper off, remove a support bar, the towbar goes in place of this.

The holes are all there so no drilling required.

Just needed a small piece cutting out of the bottom of the bumper to go around the towbar bracket.

Hmm..., that didn't sound too bad. From the mounting instructions I found, it mentioned a lot of removing bit and pieces. Maybe I should remove the rear bumper one day and check how things look behind there.

andspenka, how did you do it with the electrical connections? As far as I understand, it is kinda plug and play?
