Black cap for rear of bulb holder....

Afternoon all,

Just wondered whether anyone would know the part number for the part mentioned in the subject line?
Do you know what I mean? Its the black cap thing which screws on behind your bulb when you replace one. It seals the bulb into the headlight and stops water etc getting in.

I appear to have lost mine and its now taken its tole on the plug which attached to the back of the bulb which supplies the power. Its all rotting away and falling apart!!

I went to my Renault dealer yesterday and he said he knew which part I meant and qupted me £1.46 for a new one. When I asked him if he was sure (because im pretty sure it shouldnt be as cheap as that), I was told "Yeah, the only rubber cap behind the headlight??"
As you can imagine i was pretty miffed by his remark, but I have given him the benefit of the doubt and am currently waiting for a call to say the part has arrived (just thought I would do a bit of info gathering while i wait).

Any ideas??

The price sounds about right for the part: in 2003 in Germany it cost €1.25 ex-VAT so I'd say for 2008 £1.46 is in the right bracket....

The part number is 77 01 047 182, BTW.

And because (sooner or later) someone will want to know the part number for the rubber push-on cap sealing the aperture of the high-beam bulb: 77 01 054 677.

Well, you know what, it appears the Renault man was correct! Yes, you heard me, he was right! (sorry if there are any members of Renault staff on here since i was last on, but i have grown not to trust what my local Renault garage and its staff tell me).

I picked the part up after work today and it fots like a glove....can now wash the car without fear of blowing my headlight up or something.
