Front & rear diamond badges

Postby tiw75 » Thu Oct 25, 2007 9:25 pm

thinking of getting mine sprayed the same colour as the car, obviously don't want to be without any for the time they're being sprayed.
Does anyone know roughly how much a new pair will be?
and, are they easily removed?

Think the front one is held on by some (possibly a) allum stud, at least i think, cant remember to clearly now, gunna have to take part of the front bumper off to get to it, so a bit of a chew on.
The rear, again is held on by two allum studs/ screws whatever, you'll have to take the interior pannels off to get to it, which pretty much just pulls off if you give them a good tug, the pannels not the badge.

The one on the bum is held by four studs: :D

The interior panels are kept by a few screws, so it's not just a tug job. :D (Damn, must behave myself...) IIRC the screws are at the bottom of the recesses where you can pull the lid shut.

I'm sure there's a front bumper removal guide somewhere (I've seen one), but it's easy enough even without one. Just locate all the fitting bolts, shouldn't be too hard to spot them all.

The only "tricky" part is the two slots per side in the vicinity of the headlights, where you need to insert a long screwdriver through these slots and press some release clips that bind the bumper to the headlights. I first missed these when trying to remove my front bumper, thought what the **** until I realised there were those hidden releases!

i stand corrected, i saw that photo the other day and thort they were stud etc, obviously didnt take a very good look.

The front you should only need to remove the top half of the bumper just to allow you to get your hand behind, theres a few fittings along the headlights and under covers which you'll need to remove, cant remember doing it all tho, sorry couldnt be more help.
