2003 - Megane 1.5DCI Chip-Box

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a descent Megane 1.5DCI plug & play Chip-box to improve performance/economy?

I have seen a few on ebay - anybody got any feedback on them?

I had one which was good, from an Italian company, belive it was called a drake box two, or something along those lines.

The merits, or lack of, these units have been discussed ad infinitum. Personally I would go for a re-map, as I regard these units to be worse than useless. However, others disagree. Let the debate continue...

I would still advise against. My reason is that these boxes are a simplistic way of tricking the ECU into providing extra fuel (amongst other things). A re-map done properly will do the job much better and more reliably.

The choice is yours. I have no empirical evidence either way.

I have just bought one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Megan ... 4cfbe48302. Absolutely fantastic piece of kit for the money and from a good company. Was contemplating over this and an ECU tune, but glad I went with this and on a plus side you can also tune the box to give to more power. MPG has also increased.

did u find a better responce to the turbo. i find my 1.5dci has a hell of a lag on it and wondered if these would help this. not to fussed on mpg (would be an advantage) as i dont travel alot a miles to work and back.
