Brisbane to Roma, Aussie Roadtrip

Howdy,
The wife and I decided to give the new car a bit of a run, we decided to go out to Roma, approx 500kms west of Brisbane (Queensland, Australia).
What a great drive, nice long straights with only the odd road-train to deal with, the Megane cruised nicely at 130kph with the odd 180kph stint (just to pass the trucks safely   ) until the speed limiter in the passenger seat kicked in anyway...
I don't really recommend going to Roma for anything but the drive, it's a pretty small town of around 7000 people with about 10 pubs, not much to do but the roads were pretty good. (watch out for the Kangaroos though, I wouldn't do the drive at night, that would ruin the trip very quickly.

Anyway, after 1100kms, in 2 days averaging 7.3l/100kms (no I can't convert that to mpg for you, I only think in metric :( ) I remain VERY impressed with our new french friend.

Cheers,
Carey
(YAY!! my springs arrive in 4 days!!!!)

I've been several times to Roma and it surprises me that driving there could be described as pleasure. Enormous traffic and crazy drivers.

How about the coalas and other sauff on the roads?
