Down to Southern Europe...

Postby sean65 » Tue Sep 14, 2010 6:35 pm

Took our Megane 2005 1.6 down to the south of France this summer for our hols. It is a magnificent car and ran down to Cannes & Nice without missing a single beat. The temperatures outside were regularly 35-37 degrees C but the Megane air conditioner kept us cool and comfortable. The car was loaded with luggage + two passengers and took on the huge distances each day with ease, even up some long and hard climbs.
We hit a traffic jam south of Lyon and were standing in traffic in 37 degrees of sunshine with the Air conditioner running full tilt for about an hour and a half, the car just purred away without any sign of over heating. These cars as i'm sure any owner would agree are far from perfect, i.e the ridiculous lack of easy access to all the front light bulbs !! that said, Renault should be praised for making another smooth comfotable long distance cruiser able to take on big distances with ease and comfort.
