I plan to change rims to bigger and wider to make it withstand my driving through corners and roundabouts.

I wonder though, will it impact my performance in negative way? Or in any other way? Basically what can it do to my steering, performance, acceleration? And how will suspension react on that change?

My previous meggy had standard at 205 /50 / 17, I bought 225 / 40 / 18 it was actually cheaper to buy tyres as it is a common size compared to the 17 inch standard one. so 225 should be ok.
