2005 Megane - weird faults

hello,
I'm new to Meganes and to the forum but glad I found so much interesting advise on here.
So far I cannot find a solution of the sudden faults.
The issue:
The car has been standing for around a month unused. I went to open the doors today, and all the central locking would not open. I then used the manual door key which opened the doors but not the boot and the alarm kept going off.
Then I tried to start it up, no engine firing, just clicking. The dash shows different errors each time - "check room manual", immobiliser lights flashing fast, "check battery", steering locked.
Then lastly, the central locking started flicking on and off without pressing any buttons.
The only consistency is the inability to start.
We've tried pressing the start button 5 times for 7 seconds, disconnecting the battery and opening all the doors.
The car is a megane convertible 2005.
Any ideas or tips? I'd love to get it going as soon as possible!
