We are on holiday in Aviemore in our trusty 2006 Megane CC and the glass roof has just shattered here until the weekend any suggestions of where I could get it fixed? cheers Ashers

Up some kind of creek without a paddle springs to mind.
Keep it undercover till you return home at the place ur staying at. Then get it relayed home with a cover over it.
Take it too renault dealers and claim off ur insurance but hardly likely to get it done by weekend.
Take to a garage happy to renew roof and use either ebay or findapart .com to source used one.
So sorry for you what a s★★t thing to happen and worse still on hols away from home
I would have it relayed home Aa or rac and a tarp over it to protect it from a soaking.

Down to the Builder's supply store, one sheet of 4mm plywood, tube of silicone and some silver gaffer tape an hour later and it's secure and watertight-just waiting to see what it's like on the Autoroute at 130kph!

Pity u don't live in UK, just spotted a roof glass on eBay for £30 collection only, guess they don't want to post a chunk of glass.

I too found one in the UK but alas could not find anyone to fit, time constraints ferry bookings etc.Just informed insurance today given the go ahead with no excess.so it's down to Renault main dealer tomorrow.
The main cause was a shoe trapped behind and hidden by the roller blind in the boot leaving no clearance on the boot lid about 2mm of disaster.note to self double check next time.

Ur insurance will pay for it....... Wow on an 06!!!! I thought they would have wrote it off, well done you
Sorted...
All because of a shoe. You wouldn't have thought a shoe could cause so much damage, bloody shoe... I would have chucked it in a temper and cone home with one shoe.
Glad its sorted for you I bet Renault will love that job, not!
:D :tu :)

Initial reply from insurance say it is covered just emailed quote waiting reply with fingers crossed.
Just got go a head they will pay in full over 700 euro! Don't forget the cars are much more expensive here in France, looking through the ads for the same year you are looking at paying between 5 and 7000 euro for a 2004 to 2008 car.

I remember Churchill giving me a quote a good few years back so I took it, on renewal it went up over a ton when I questioned this they said "its a convertible" I said it was last year as well the responce was you might leave the roof off it by accident. I said
1; if you don't notice your car has no roof perhaps you shouls not be driving as you might be missing something a bit more important.
2; its a factory designed convertable so its made to have roof left off and stay secure.???
Bit anoyed at time but looking back quite funny now.
But saga last year claimed £2k from thw other driver insurance to repair my passenger side which was hit the cars not worth two grand so you just don't know as said excellent if you get it.

Just picked up the Car from mail dealer, the moaned about my repair work as wooden temporary roof was fitted with silicone and gaffer tape, all had to be removed before they stuck a new bit of glass where it should be then sent the bill to Aviva-still finding fragments of glass in sun shade and awkward places where their industrial vacuum could not reach.Still got the car result.

So it was just the glass, never the less excellent result I thought they would have changed the whole section but makes sense just the glass.
A most rewarding success.
