Specifically 2.0 dci 160 bhp? I was wondering the difference between that and the old 2.0dci

Good question, can't find a comparison anywhere apart from 10bhp meg 2 is 150bhp and meg 3 is 160bhp both 16valve chain engines seen a couple of nice ones with relatively good mileage slough Renault had a nice white meg 3 for £8k with 30k on it and prestige motors on auto trader have a nice blue one at £6400ish but has 80k on it and no TomTom or duel climate ac, for me insurance is around £10/15 more per year between a 1.9and the 2.0 but the difference comes in road tax the 2.0 DCI is up in the £220 mark whilst the 1.9 is down near the £140, never driven one so don't know how much fun it would be at 160bhp if anything like er in doors pug at 138bhp it would be wicked fun.
Bit of useless info the meg 2 two litre engine came from the Renault traffic van big complaints about injector's playing up but it was just a van thing, basically it was how rain water ran off the screen in good old Renault fashion, right onto injectors.
That's all I know really

Interesting. But they do seem to be very rare.

As the megane 2 cc is a lot lighter than the three does this mean the 2.0 is faster with 10 bhp less?

My 1.5dci is definetly faster than the new 1.5dci actually quite close to the new 1.6dci 130bhp.... well until I remapped and then even that was slower.

If the old megane 2.0 dci rs was 175bhp, I wonder would it be able to be remapped to 210bhp? I was thinking would a transplant engine from a megane rs dci be better than a second hand megane 3 cc 2.0dci.... I am beginning to think maybe the transplant would be the way to go when my wallet and wife finally agree.

Careful with insurance taking a 1.5 up to a 2.0 they may well want an engineers report they will be looking at breaking and suspension as well as the fitment of the lump unfortunately nothing is simple these days you would quite possibly need to change g/box and driveshafts as well guess exhaust will be larger as well .....expensive! But interesting.
