Hi All,
Had about 4 Megane CC's now (don't ask me why...)
Got a lovely one about 6 months ago, 05 plate 45k miles, black, sweet as.
One month later saw the old sludge in the coolant tank.
Coolant seal, gasket seal etc. DONE.
OK for about 2 weeks. More seal, ok (it's amazing if u use the Ostrich Principal & bury your head in the sand).
Then every few miles the water dried up, yeah keep topping it up I though, until it got to a state where it would barely start. I got a new coolant tank but one screw was welded on FFS so i was 'screwed' lol to myself, sorry. I knew it was the head gasket, as confirmed by the RAC who said straight away it was the CYLINDER HEAD.
Anyways, to cut a long story short, the battery is flat as Kate Moss, I can get in via the passenger key thingymajig but obviously can't jump start it to regain power as the gasket has gone.
QUESTION: How the F can I get in the boot as there is no power/key slot. The dead hitchhikers are starting to smell. Kidding, I have stuff i need in there obviously.
ANY IDEAS PLEASE ladies & gents.
regards Lex

Use the emergency key to get in, pop the bonnet, disconnect the battery and charge it up.
Reconnect battery, and the locks will work.
Sorted.

Nice try.
Do you know anyone with a booster battery, you know the £20 yellow things from B&M that have a battery, a lamp and an air pump?
That would work. At least long enough for you to get in.
Or a crowbar. If you are scrapping it anyway..
