Steering rack has recently been changed as was clunking a lot . Now since replaced check steering error shows and steering goes heavy. Turned car off and on fault disappears . Fluid is topped up .
Need advice if anyone has come across this as don't feel comfortable driving with children in car .
Thank you

I thought it had electric power steering, check the gaiters on the track rods,it relies on air pressure feedback to regulate the power on the steering. Is it the same while turning left or right?

Hi
All sorted apparently any steering rack/ column replacement and you have to get programmed again.

I wonder if your clunking steering was the small plastic bush on the passenger end of the rack.
I once spoke to a polish lad who told me this was big renault con you end up with a clunk on right hans down full lock renault diag a rack when all it needs is this little bush it sits behind the track control arm use to be availble on ebay for a fiver can't remember what he called it never had it myself 7 years an owner and 140 ish on the clock.
Supose thats done it now will clunk tomorrow.
