the message has gone. 4th gear for 5 miles at 65 to 70mph on way out. the return journey involved two roundabouts on 70 sections that allowed me to drop to 3rd and 40mph and hard accelerate to 55 in 3rd then 4th to 65. this run was 4 miles.

Nice one, had I seen your message earlier I woul've recommended 20 mins with the revs over 2000.
A good weekly blast is good to keep DPF issues at bay and I don't mean driving like a loon, I give my diesel a blast up a 2 mile road to work once a week, worked for my last diesel I just hope it works for my current one
