The brilliant left hand quarter window

Postby Jasonv » Fri Jul 10, 2015 4:24 pm

smashing great , the problem the dealer fixed back in March is back , now the question of will a dealer who sells overpriced cars fix this problem with a so called 12 month warranty, you know the worthless sort ? Or do I have to pull the seats out and push it up myself . Hating Renault right now , no other company lets this kind of thing happen .

Ok , a hour later and it goes back up , please could someone explain this , I know the regulator will need replacing but why would it just start working again ?

Are you sure it's the regulator and not the temic module attached to it as they are one of reason windows pack up

Not sure of that , it did put it self down again today but the door switch works so it went back up , I understand there is a module u can buy from renaultwindow.com. I read somewhere online that the electrics are so bad that the window can go down in the middle of the night .

That can happen, I'd also check your drains under scuttle in bulk head as if they get blocked the water finds its way into car and there's a connector under passenger switch which if gets damp can cause alsorts of problems, mine were blocked so cleaned them out also passenger side drain if blocked will leak onto wiring under the air box too, it's worth a check and I got my module of eBay for £70 but he also repairs modules for £30 and gives 1 year warranty, if I can find the link I will post but I just searched megane cc window module, just be careful as some aftermarket modules won't take window down with centre switch
Here's the link

Thanks For the advice, I pulled off the black gutters outside the windows today and scrubbed off the moss, I'm sure the moss was letting the rain drop down to the motor . I also put some duct tape on the ends of the gutters to hopefully divert the flow of water elsewhere. The design of the seal between the side windows allows water to drop straight into the dreaded window motor area . The window failed this morning so I thought I would give cleaning a go. Half hour later it worked again but I've got one of the aftermarket ones in the boot for that day when it comes.

If you can try and waterproof the module with grease or Vaseline, especially round the plug
